Yes, there is a year and a half gap since I last posted in my blog. Let's just say that I was distracted. Part of it was having fun, part of it was not having any fun. But then the last few months have been extremely productive.
I began writing The Golden Apple in 2009 while residing in Kraków and enchanted with Slavic mythology. I didn't finish it that year and instead put it away for another time. This pattern repeated many times over seventeen years. This year that I was determined to finish and share my story.
What had started as a short story grew into a novella, with a length just shy of a novel. With extreme editing, the story shrank into what publishers refer to as a novelette. Even as I prepared for publication, I continued to tinker with the story, changing a word here, adding a phrase there, until the final version was frozen upon submission to the Slovak government for publication.
The official release of the story in electronic format was on August 17. The printed version will be released in October of this year. I am quite happy with the results. If you are interested in being notified of the official book release, click here.
Another project that I embarked upon was to upgrade my blog. I teamed up with ChatGPT to create something that looks really professional. It was not as easy as me saying what I wanted and magically having a whole system appear. It took many iterations over a period of a week to finally produce a finished product.
